Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works but takes work This is a great product but you need to follow the directions and not take shortcuts. 1) Mix it well. If you are going to buy it and use same day have the store shake it up. I still shook it between each coat. 3) It recommends 3 coats but says covers 20 sq feet, don't count coats, calculate coverage. My coats were thin but I did 7 and gave 60min not 30 to dry. 4) I also used bare would so I put regular primer down prior to magnetic primer, just to make sure I got my best bang for the buck. 5) I also did to coats of paint over the top of magnetic primer but they were very thin, too thick and it will effect results. 6) Earth magnets are a must not just a suggestion. They are not expensive and well worth it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wouldn't waste my money again Wouldn't even hold simple magnets. Had to use heavy magnets just to hold a piece of coming book paper. Going to try one more time with double coat and see how it turns out (with what's left in my paint can)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Photograph Wall What I wanted was a wall that I could place pictures without frames so that I could rotate the pictures out as I did projects. I read up on this product and all of the discussions were you would have to use multiple coats. I did two 4'x4' areas using 8 coats with a small roller. Yes the oder is strong and ventilation is preferred as you work with the paint. If you are going to put a top coat of paint on the area I would strongly encourage more coats, probably 2 to one as the top coat is thicker. There are comments of the magnets not sticky. I had to get different magnets but the ones I have found best are Magnet Rare Earth Neodymium Permanent Magnets. This are strong and small. Using the ceramic or flexible cylinder will not work well. I am pleased with the product and would have given a 5 if the oder had not been as strong.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Black Oil Based Paint I just painted this yesterday on a wall, it is a very dark , black oil based paint, you will have to purchase a latex paint primer if you want to color over it, then paint another 2 layer of latex paint. The concept is great but the product is poor, basically your painting chips of metal on your wall. and when you paint over it, the product becomes LESS magnetic. I had to use the entire can of paint. Even though I ventilated my house the oil based fumes entered through my vents and caused my dryer to vent out the kerosene fumes. You will not be able to wash this down the sink, nor should you. The quality of the product does not produce the quality of magnetism needed to support pictures and paper or note paper without extra magnets.
